There's dumb album ideas, and then there's "The Explosive Dynamic Apocalypse Inducing Non-Stop-Knee-Slappin' Full Bore Knuckle Draggin' Irrefutably Undeniable Freight Train of Audio Chuckles aka Henry's College Radio Station ID Highlight Reel at WVYC 88.1 York." While a young'n in southcentral Pennsylvania, a 21-year old go getter named Henry Owings would take his tape recorder and camera to shows. The bands that he documented would almost be a mere footnote if it weren't for the fact that he had kept the radio station IDs that these bands did for his erratically-scheduled "Squalor Show" on WVYC 88.1 York, Pennsylvania. The bands featured? Afghan Whigs, The Original Sins, Tar, Love Battery, Teenage Fanclub, Unsane (with Charlie Ondras), Ride, L7, Bikini Kill (before they had a record out), Cows, Clawhammer, Vertigo, Hammerhead, T4 and good god, so much more. This is a machine numbered edition of 88 copies (in honor of the radio station) and includes a deluxe 12-page book designed by Henry and showing never before published photos from his archives from the likes of Bikini Kill, Afghan Whigs, Cows, L7 and Clawhammer. And lest ye think that we'd skimp on such a thing, the front and back covers are illustrated by our good Atlanta buddy, the legendary Swami. Individually cut at Little Elephant. Edited by Jason Henn. Mastered by Drew Crumbaugh. Assembled and conceived of by H2Ø.

Sonic Youth is one of those bands where you easily run out of superlatives to describe what they created. This could've easily come off as a cynical cash-grab by a band that had broken up 11 years prior to the release of this record, but that's not what this is.
